Spring Program Summary & Schedule

Program Overview

Our Spring Program offers creative learning opportunities in Art, Crochet, Dance, and Music. Participants can explore new skills in a welcoming, community-focused environment. Classes are open to students in grades K–12. All levels are welcome, and instruction is designed to help strengthen skills at each student’s level. Classes are available individually or as bundled packages for added savings.

Monday — Dance | 5:00 – 7:00 PM
Tuesday — Art | 5:00 – 7:00 PM
Wednesday — Crochet | 5:00 – 7:00 PM
Thursday — Music | 5:00 – 7:00 PM
Thursday or Friday — Community Center Sample Classes | 12:00 PM 20-minute sample classes (not included in program pricing)

• One class: $70
• Two classes: $150
• Three classes: $200
• All classes: $250

SUMMER REGISTRATION

Summer registration will begin June 15th and run through July 30th. Early enrollment coming soon!

Visual Arts Education

Cultivating Vision, Skill, and Creative Discipline The Visual Arts Program at Leon Kendrick Youth Arts Academy provides comprehensive, structured training that builds both technical mastery and conceptual understanding. Students develop visual literacy, craftsmanship, and the ability to communicate complex ideas through artistic expression. We approach visual arts as both a discipline and a language — one that requires study, practice, critique, and refinement.

THEATER & PERFORMANCE

Developing Confident Storytellers and Leaders The Theater & Performance Program develops the whole performer — voice, body, intellect, and emotional intelligence. Students learn that performance requires discipline, preparation, and collaboration. Our program emphasizes both craft and character development.

MUSIC & VOCAL TRAINING

Building Musical Excellence and Performance Mastery The Music & Vocal Program combines disciplined technical training with expressive artistry. Students learn that musical excellence requires practice, theory, and precision.

DANCE & MOVEMENT

Discipline, Strength, and Expressive Power The Dance & Movement Program develops physical discipline, coordination, and artistic storytelling through structured technique training. Dance is treated as both athletic practice and expressive language.

CROCHET

Students learn foundational and advanced crochet techniques while exploring the artistic and cultural significance of fiber arts. Through guided projects, participants develop fine motor skills, pattern-reading ability, and design awareness. The course emphasizes craftsmanship, creativity, and completion teaching students to see a project from concept to finished product.
